Too Old to Love?

This week's questions are from Jewels Abby.

What ages are your characters?
Currently, I am working on a novel which features a hero and heroine in their early 30’s. But I have concluded that what I really want to write is stories that feature more mature couples (40 plus) who are taking a chance on loving for the second time.

What special things or places inspire you to write?
I do my best writing at my husband’s lacrosse games. All that testosterone, rampant male ribbing and teasing and all those muscular men. Inspiring! I also do a lot of writing at my local breakfast restaurant. The staff all know me, and keep me well supplied with coffee.

What is the one message you hope women will receive when they read your stories?
I want women to believe in love and hope. I want them to know that they are worth love, and that they deserve nothing but the best.

You will love what Collette Cameron's has to say about these questions at http://blueroseromance.com.

  1. There's a unique market for 40 something hero/heroines! Go for it!!

  2. Where? I love that idea too, Katie! I remember reading about (40ish) David Bowie biding his time while courting Iman, because (at the time) he said, he knew it was going to be love and wanted to take his time. Opened my mind to the concept of 40+ born again virgins.

  4. I have a mature couple that I want to write a story about. This might just inspire me to do it.

  5. I think I prefer "older" couples because I am significantly older than 30. I'm a gramma for Pete's sake. I like people that have history to hinder them, or to fall back on. And frankly, a lot of the twenty-something heroines are twits. (Just like I was at that age!) So, I concluded that if I want to read 40 somethings, others might to. So that is where I am headed. Thanks to everyone for joining me and visiting my blog.
